Teen Drug Use

I remember in high school when it was drug free month we had to wear the DRUG FREE signs on our shirts that read "Drug free is the way to be"

Some teens don't understand the affects of drug use and how it could ruin your future.  In high school, I knew people that was doing it and some of my friends even tried it.  A lot of people I knew back in high school or drug addicts.  They never did anything with their life.  I have a friend of mines that told me that he used drugs in high school but he stopped after his best friend got into a tragic accident that killed him.  Sometimes you could lose someone close to you that could change your life. 

Some teens do drug because they think it's fun, their friends are doing it, they are stressed and they want it to relax them.  They never relized the effects of it all. 

Here are some of the effects of teen drug use:

Slower development of the brain and body, meaning that teens who use drugs are likely to have smaller brains and to be shorter.


Loss of short-term memory and ability to learn

Underdeveloped motor skills

Lack of motivation

Impaired emotional and sexual development

Deviant behavior and conduct disorders

Inability to judge risks

Depression and suicidal tendencies

Eating disorders

Personality and psychiatric disorders

Damage to blood vessels in the brain, which can lead to strokes

Convulsions or seizures

Reduced brain function, which can lead to coma and death


You guys think twice before you use drugs because it could ruin your life.  Your life is really just beginning and life is precious.  You only have one life to live so just try to fight the peer pressure and live it the right way.  Take care you guys!! :-)
