Teen Sex and Parenting

You guys don't feel shy about this topic, let's get your feelings out in the open.  I was once a teen and I can totally relate to whatever you have to say.

I remember in high school, I knew almost everyone was doing it or claiming that they were doing it.  I often wondered if I should do it.  Believe it or not you guys, I was 21 years of age when I lost my virginity.  My friends thought that I would be wild when I left for college because I wasn't in a hurry to grow up.  Virginity is very precious.  A close friend of mines got pregnant at the age of 16 and I saw the things that she went through when she gave birth.  She hardly ever slept and couldn't totally focus on studying.  She almost didn't graduate from high school but she made it.  Her baby father wasn't very active in the baby's life and she had to handle a lot of things on her own.   She felt alone and her mother was working a full time job and she couldn't help her much to take care of the baby.

You guys, I'm not going say not to have sex because ultimately you would make that decision on your own.  Just last week my mother was telling me how she was worried about my little brother having sex.  I replied to her that worrying isnt going to change anything and all she could do is just tell him to protect himself by using condoms.  It's to many diseases that's going around and some diseases could kill you if you aren't safe.  Just because your girlfriend or boyfriend don't want to use protection or they may say that they don't have anything, you still should protect yourself.  Some sexually transmitted diseases aren't treatable.

Also, if you think you are mature enough to engage in sex as a teen, make sure you know of the responsibilities of taking care of your baby.  Babies need to be feed, pamper changed, put to sleep, etc.  Some times you may have to wake up in the middle of the night.  Just be aware of the consequences of getting pregnant.
